Cowboy Days at the Farm and Ranch Museum

My friend told me about this fun Cowboy Days event. I talked Scott into going. It was nice to do something different with the whole family. Milalai, has been asking me to ride a horse for a while. So, to find out they were letting the children ride the horses, was an exciting moment!

We decided to buy an old fashioned soda from a wagon that looked similar to this...
Me and Scott's motto: 'The old fashioned soda with not so old fashioned prices!'

Well, the kids went crazy and fought over who would have the first drink. I was completely embarrassed when I realized we had an audience. Between the shoving, pinching, dirty looks and spilled $6.00 drink (well not too much got spilled, but enough got on my clothes to make me realize something had to be done). I quickly seperated them and we worked through the problem. I could not believe it! My kids RARELY misbehave in public. I will blame it on the fact that we left pretty early in the morning, so they didn't have time to fight at home : )

I told the kids whoever took a picture with the pistachio gets it put up on the blog! Alannah didn't think twice. She jumped right in!

Sarinah wants an old victorian dress like that.

I love this pic! Too cute!

Alannah feeding 'Nacho', the donkey.

Learning about what good milk does for our bones from a talking skeleton riding a bike. Very
intriguing!

I was excited to be able to show the kids the cow milking demonstration....but when we got to the cow this is what it was. I was hoping for a more hands on approach, the 'old fashioned' approach.

As we were leaving we missed the horse and carriage ride. We had two soccer games to get to so...next time!
